ISIL completely collapses east of Palmyra

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIL) forces have completely collapsed in the eastern countryside of Palmyra after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) made a massive push along the Homs-Deir Ezzor Highway this week.

According to a statement released by the Syrian Ministry of Defense, the entire Arak Triangle, which includes the T-3 Pumping Station, has been liberated from the Islamic State terrorists that were occupying this region for more than two years.

In addition to capturing the T-3 Pumping Station and town of Arak, the Syrian Arab Army also liberated the Talilah area after a fierce battle with the Islamic State militants for nearly a week.

Up next for the Syrian Arab Army is the key town of Sukhnah, which is located along the Homs-Deir Ezzor Highway; it is considered the Islamic State’s last stronghold before the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
