Putin: Russia will not expel anyone in response to US sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin © Aleksey Nikolskyi / Sputnik
The Russian president has rejected a suggestion of the foreign ministry to expel 35 American diplomats in response to a similar move by the US. He said Obama’s act was designed to provoke a reaction, but Russia would not take the bait.

We reserve the right to retaliate, but we will not sink to the level of this irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy. We will take further moves on restoring Russian-American relations based on the policies that the administration of President-elect Donald Trump adopts,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a statement published by the Kremlin website.
Putin said that, unlike the Obama administration, Russia will not target foreign diplomats and their families days before New Year’s celebrations.

We will not forbid families and children from spending the New Year’s holidays at the places they are used to. Moreover, I invite the children of all American diplomats with accreditation in Russia to New Year’s and Christmas festivities in the Kremlin,” the Russian president said.

Putin said he regretted that US President Barack Obama is ending his term “in such a way,” but that he extended his New Year’s congratulations to the outgoing US president and his family nevertheless.
“I congratulate President-elect Donald Trump and the entire American people!” he concluded.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov suggested that Russia respond to the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats from the US by expelling 35 American diplomats from Russia. Similarly, the eviction of a Russian diplomatic staff from two vacation houses in the US would be mirrored by a similar eviction of Americans in Russia.

President Obama targeted Russian diplomats as a part of wider sanctions against Russian, which he justified by the alleged interference by the Russian government in the November presidential election in the US. Moscow denies the allegations.

The US claimed that the vacation houses had been used for espionage. Russia insists that they were used by the diplomatic staff to spend holidays with their families.

Ukrainian army reinforces positions with MLRS, howitzers on Donetsk, Mariupol axes

Donetsk, Dec 29 – DAN. DPR intelligence recorded the deployment of Ukrainian MLRS Uragan and Akatsia self-propelled howitzers to the contact line on Donetsk and Mariupol axes, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“Our intelligence keeps recording the strengthening of Ukrainian army positions near the contact line,” Basurin said.

Three MLRS Uragan were spotted arriving at Elizavetovka (Donetsk axis, 18 km from the contact line). Two Akatsia 152mm howitzers were revealed in Starognatovka village area (outside Volnovakha, 4.5 km from the contact line).

“Minsk agreements violation data were passed to OSCE mission and Joint Centre for Control and Coordination representatives,” Basurin added.

DPR intelligence reports Kiev’s regular deployment of military equipment to the conflict zone. Under The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed by the Contact Group on February 12, 2015, the sides have to withdraw their artillery systems of 100 mm calibre or more to a distance of 50 kilometres apart from each other, multiple launch rocket systems Tornado, Uragan and Smerch to a distance of 70 kilometres and Tactical Missile Systems Tochka to a distance of 140 kilometres.

The Addendum to the Minsk Agreements signed in September provides for the parties’ withdrawal of their artillery systems of a calibre less than 100 mm, as well as tanks and mortars. *jk

Russia: Syrian Government, Rebels Sign Cease-Fire Deal

Vladimir Putin said the cease-fire, which excludes extremist groups such as the ISIS and al-Qaida affiliate, will be guaranteed by Russia and Turkey.

ANKARA, Turkey (REPORT) — Russia’s president and the Syrian army said Thursday that a nation-wide cease-fire agreement has been reached with opposition rebels, set to begin at midnight. The deal was confirmed by the Turkish foreign ministry.

Vladimir Putin said the cease-fire, which excludes extremist groups such as the Islamic State group and al-Qaida affiliate, will be guaranteed by Russia and Turkey. He said it will be followed by peace talks between Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government and the opposition, and that the Syrian parties would take part in talks to be held in Kazakhstan, without specifying a date.

Syria’s military said it agreed to a nationwide cease-fire starting at midnight, adding that it paves the way for reactivating negotiations to end the conflict. It said the cease-fire comes after the “successes achieved by the armed forces,” an apparent reference to the capture of rebel-held neighborhoods of Aleppo earlier this month.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said the truce will include 62,000 opposition fighters across Syria, and that the Russian military has established a hotline with its Turkish counterpart to monitor compliance.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that that President-elect Donald Trump’s administration will be welcome to join the Syrian peace process once he takes office.

Russia is a key ally of Assad, while Turkey is one of the main backers of the opposition. Several previous attempts to halt the civil war have failed but the recent warming of ties between Turkey and Russia may prove to be a game changer this time.

It comes on the heels of the Syrian army’s retaking control of Aleppo, Syria’s largest city, ending the opposition’s four-year hold over parts of the city.

Putin said he ordered the Russian military to scale down its presence in Syria, where it has provided crucial support to Assad’s forces. Putin didn’t say how many troops and weapons will be withdrawn. He said Russia will continue “fighting international terrorism in Syria” and supporting Assad’s military.
Putin also said that the Russian military will maintain its presence at both an air base in Syria’s coastal province of Latakia and the naval facility in the Syrian port of Tartus.

Earlier Thursday, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on Hezbollah to withdraw its fighters from Syria. The group, which has sent thousands of fighters to support Assad, has been playing an instrumental role in Syria’s civil war since 2013, mostly in areas near the border with Lebanon, the suburbs of the capital Damascus and the northern city of Aleppo. The group is not likely to withdraw from Syria in the near future as its leader repeatedly said that their presence there is mostly to prevent attacks by extremists deep inside Lebanon.

Foreign fighters from around the world have joined both sides of the Syrian conflict that has so far killed more than quarter a million people, displaced half the country’s population and produced more than four millions refugees.

Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem had said that fighters from more than 80 countries have joined insurgent groups trying to remove Assad from power while the Syrian government is backed by fighters from countries including Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Russia.

The Turkish minister said all foreign fighters, including the Hezbollah, should withdraw from Syria.
“Those various groups have to leave Syria and the Hezbollah should return to Lebanon,” Cavusoglu said in the interview with Turkey’s A Haber news channel.

In Damascus, seven civilians were injured by a mortar round that fell near a school in the western neighborhood of Tajheez, according to a report by state news agency SANA.

Earlier, SANA said that two persons were injured by a mortar round that was fired by insurgents on Damascus’ al-Mazraa neighborhood where the Russian embassy locates.

On Wednesday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said its embassy in Damascus was hit by mortar fire, blaming the attack on “extremists” opposed to a peaceful settlement. It said a mortar round landed in the embassy courtyard without exploding, and another fell in the vicinity.

Russia: Mass Graves Full Of Tortured Civilians Discovered In Eastern Aleppo

‘The results of only an initial survey of Aleppo neighborhoods abandoned by the so-called “opposition” will shock many,’ stated a representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

ALEPPO, Syria — Russian military forces have discovered mass graves in eastern parts of the Syrian city of Aleppo, with many of the bodies reportedly showing signs of torture.

Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, a spokesperson for the Russian defense ministry, announced the horrifying discovery on Monday. “Many of the corpses were found with missing body parts, and most had gunshot wounds to the head,” he said, according to RT, a Russian state-owned news network.
Until recently, the eastern portion of Aleppo, once Syria’s largest city and industrial and financial center, was under the control of so-called “moderate” rebels, many of whom have received both intelligence and material support from the United States and its allies in the Middle East.

Last week, Russian and Syrian military forces oversaw the evacuation of civilians from eastern Aleppo. Prior to that, the rebel-held portion of the city had been controlled by two main factions, Jabhat al-Nusra, a terrorist group with ties to al-Qaida also known as the Nusra Front, and Ahrar al-Sham, another extremist group that receives U.S. support despite being designated a terrorist organization.

In an apparent attempt to court the U.S. government by distancing itself from al-Qaida, the Nusra Front recently attempted to “rebrand” itself. Despite efforts to market themselves as kinder, gentler terrorists, the group has continued to commit atrocities, including burning buses intended to be used in the evacuation and even blocking food aid from reaching Aleppo’s starving residents. WikiLeaks’ archive of diplomatic cables reveals that the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia have sought to overthrow the government of Syrian leader Bashar Assad since at least 2006, and support for extremist fighters remains a key part of that strategy.

Konashenkov promised a full investigation into the war crimes of rebel forces in Aleppo, suggesting in his statement that the results would surprise many people who receive their news from Western mainstream media sources. He said:

“The completion of a uniquely large-scale humanitarian operation by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Aleppo will destroy many of the myths that have been fed to the world by Western politicians. The results of only an initial survey of Aleppo neighborhoods abandoned by the so-called ‘opposition’ will shock many.”

Russian forces also found massive stockpiles of weaponry abandoned by fleeing rebel groups. “In one small area, three tanks, two cannons, two multiple rocket launchers and numerous homemade mortars were found,” reported RT.

Throughout the civil war, weaponry and equipment provided by the United States and its allies, nominally intended for so-called “moderate” groups like the Free Syrian Army, has instead ended up in the hands of terrorist groups like the Nusra Front. A BBC report from December of 2015 referred to the shipments of supplies from the West as a “Wal-Mart” for extremists

While journalists on the ground have documented atrocities carried out by rebel groups throughout the Syrian conflict, the mainstream media has focused almost entirely on reports of war crimes committed by the Syrian government, even though many of those reports are impossible to verify.

False news about Syria has continued to proliferate in recent days, including reports of genocide carried out by the Syrian government that featured fake or recycled photos.

3 Ukrainian saboteurs killed in mine tripping during failed attack – Basurin

Басурин
Donetsk, Dec 29 – DAN. A Ukrainian saboteur group lost three personnel in mine tripping during failed attack on DPR defence lines, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency.

“Yesterday, in Krutaya Balka area (Yasinovatskiy district – eds DAN), a saboteur and reconnaissance enemy group up to ten personnel, using mortar and small arms support fire, tried to break through our positions,” Basurin said. “As they approached our positions, they tripped a mine killing three Ukrainian army servicemen and sending the rest into panicky retreat.”

The ceasefire agreed in Minsk does not stop Kiev forces from carrying out armed provocations in the runup to New Year holidays, he said.

Kiev forces make regular attempts to break through DPR and LPR defence which usually ends in Ukrainian casualties. On 18 December, Ukrainian units attacked LPR People’s Militia positions in Kalinovka village area outside Debaltsevo.

The attack left ten Ukrainian servicemen dead and more than 20 wounded. Two Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed. During the attack, Ukrainian forces shelled and attacked DPR militia positions but were rebuffed. *jk

Russia warns: NATO are modern NAZIs [Video]

Fort Russ
December 28th, 2016 - Fort Russ News -
RT - Translated by Inessa Sinchougova
At the annual Defence Ministry Board meeting, Minister Shoigu reveals that NATO has plenty more in store for 2017 than any Western media outlet cares to elaborate on.

Amongst which, the British Armed Forces have began their training using Russian- made tanks and uniforms, which identify the "enemy." As pointed out by Shoigu - the last time this method was employed was by Hitler.

We all know how that ended.

My New Year’s wish: freedom for Donbass

The people of Donbass have been let down by the media, the international community and even some of their friends and comrades. Let 2017 be the year Donbass is fully free and peaceful.
There are many wishes I have for the New Year.

Broadly speaking, I hope that the many geo-political triumphs of 2016 are translated into human triumphs in both a literal and metaphysical sense.

This includes my wish for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Eurasian Economic Union and the BRICS to fundamentally demonstrate that there is no turning back to unipolarity in geo-politics.
What’s more is that I am confident that long before the end of 2017, Syria and her allies will achieve their final decisive victories over all terrorists still operating in the country.

Peace and prosperity will return to the great people of Syria. The trilateral peace process led by Russia with Iran and Turkey is one step in the right direction, in spite of Turkey’s recent actions.
But my primary wish is for a conclusion to the war in Donbass.

The war in Donbass has raged since 2014 and of all unnecessary wars ravaging the earth, it remains the most unnecessary war of them all.

It started not as a result of terrorists flowing into Donbass, nor as a result of Western intervention in Donbass, an historic Russian region that in modern history has never been anything but Russian contrary to idiotic Bolshevik drawing of the internal map of Soviet Republics.

Rather a Western financed coup brought fascists to power in Kiev, and the people of Donbass simply had enough.

After suffering for decades under the unreliable, disloyal and incompetent  leadership of Kiev, putting naked fascists in power was simply the last straw.

The Donetsk and Lugansk republics were formed after the populations expressed their will to do so in a democratic referendum. That should have been the end of the matter.

Instead fascist troops, their mercenaries and free-lance terrorists, including Islamists, have continually invaded Donbass. Men, women, children and even infants have been pillaged, left homeless, or been tortured, killed or raped in the process.

In spite of the so-called Minsk II agreement, Kiev’s troops continue to invade the Donbass republics.  Over the western Christmas period, the invasions became even more lethal, although this was totally ignored by the mainstream media.

This is why it is my personal wish for an historic injustice which has resulted in a deadly war to be corrected in 2017.

The Donbass republics should be recognised as sovereign entities, and if they elect to join the Russian Federation, this should be accomplished without any caveats or delays.

In the longer term, this historically fake state of Ukraine will cease to exist. It is inevitable that half or perhaps more of the Ukrainian regions will either join the Russian Federation or form a confederacy that is friendly and open to Russia.

The western regions, which until 1945 were part of the Second Polish Republic, might well become a European vassal state, a kind of cold weather Kosovo style mafia state.  If that is what the people wish, so be it, although they still have time to reconsider the folly of their recent ways.

But whilst all of Ukraine suffers and much of it is enslaved, the people of Donbass have struck the first decisive blow against this fascist tyranny.

Their freedom must be achieved and can be achieved rapidly, so long as the powers acting in the name of justice do not forsake their duties.

'It is high time to stop seeing Donbass residents as enemies' - Russian Foreign Ministry

Moscow urges Kiev to prevent commercial blockade of Donbass. Russia is calling on the Ukrainian authorities not take cue from the Ukrainian "veterans" of war in Donbass favoring the commercial blockade of that region, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said on Wednesday.
"We are calling on Kiev to prevent this adventure, which could exacerbate the situation, complicated as it is. It is high time to stop seeing Donbass residents as enemies. These are the Ukrainian citizens just as people who live in other parts of that country. It is necessary to put an end to the hostilities, sit down at the negotiating table and seek a compromise in a direct and open dialogue," Zakharova said.
According to Zakharova, the protracted internal Ukrainian crisis can be resolved on this basis only.
"This is the cornerstone of the Minsk agreements, and the authorities in Kiev assumed an obligation to strictly comply with them," she noted.
The diplomat added that such proposals are put forward by those who consider themselves the successors of Nazi criminals like (Stepan) Bandera and (Roman) Shukhevich.
"All this indicates that Ukraine has no desire whatsoever to resolve the Donbass conflict by peaceful means. If implemented, the planned blockade will, in actual fact, be a continuation of the actions taken by the Ukrainian authorities since 2015 with regard to the country’s southeastern regions," Zakharova said.
According to media reports, a number of ex-members of the so-called volunteer battalions, previously involved in the Kiev government’s military operation in the Donbass region, announced a "total blockade of the occupied territories" on Monday.

Commenting on the announcement, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Turchinov, said the decision can be made by the president alone and ruled out any "improvised cordons" in the area.

Over 8,000 internally displaced in DPR – Ombudswoman

99
Donetsk, Dec 28 – DAN. There are over 8,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in DPR who were forced to leave their homes due to the ongoing armed conflict, said DPR ombudswoman Daria Morozova.

“Currently 8,280 IDPs live in DPR, 3,500 in Donetsk.”

Around 400 of them fled to DPR from territory controlled by Kiev for political reasons, as they felt insecure there.

“I’ve been living in Donetsk for two years, I come from Avdeyevka. There were prowlers, it was impossible to live there. I am grateful to DPR for the free lodging,” said Natalia Bakhmutskaya who was forced to leave her home.

DPR ombudswoman office has been engaged in solving IDP problems since 2014. There are 15 temporary lodging centers operating across DPR, 13 of them fully functioning and two reserve.

This year 718 people addressed ombudswoman office and were accommodated in temporary lodging. Currently 1,302 IDPs stay in temporary lodging, others are accommodated in Republican housing facilities.*ot

DPR Command reports five-fold increase in Kiev’s shelling over 24 hours

Kiev forces shelled the DPR frontline territories 533 times over the past 24 hours, reported the Vice-Commander of the DPR Operational Command Eduard Basurin.
“Despite the silence regime Kiev fighters violated the ceasefire 533 times over the past day,” said Basurin.
Ukrainian forces launched 103 shells of 82mm and 120mm calibre and 371 grenades. They also used infantry fighting vehicles' cannons and small arms.

According to the DPR Command, the enemy fired at localities of Trudovskiye and Aleksandrovka to the west from Donetsk, Shirokaya Balka and Zaitsevo villages in Gorlovka vicinities, Yasinovataya and Krasny Partizan, Leninskoye, Sakhanka, Oktyabr and Kominternovo in the Novoazovsky district in the DPR south, Grigorovka of the Telmanovsky district.
“First Kiev claims that the DPR increased the number of provocations, then it intensifies fire in all the directions on the New Year’s eve,” said Basurin.

Moscow’s court decision on state coup in Ukraine to be recognized in 12 states

Decision of the Moscow’s Dorogomilovsky Court on recogition of 2014 events in Ukraine as a state coup automatically recognizes by the 12 member states of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters (1993), including Ukraine, after its entry into legal force, said the former head of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine Olena Lukash.

Maidan
 Published: 28 December 2016
Earlier Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow sustained a case of the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Oliynyk and recognized 2014 events in Ukraine as a coup d’etat. Oliynyk said he intends to apply to the Venice Commission via the OSCE.
In addition, he intends to sue the European Ministers of Foreign Affairs who were protectors of the agreement between ex-president Viktor Yanukovych and opposition on February 21, 2014.

Thus, in addition to Ukraine, court decision is recognized by Armenia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Russian Federation.

Kiev’s Independence Square was occupied by supporters of the European integration on November 21, 2013, immediately after the announcement of the government to suspend the signing of association with the EU. Later it became an epicenter of standoff between the security forces and radicals, causing dozens of victims.

In February 2014 Verkhovna Rada ousted from power President Viktor Yanukovych, who was forced to leave Ukraine. Rada also changed the constitution and appointed new presidential elections, which subsequently "won" Petro Poroshenko.

Donald Trump Just Put His FIRST Executive Order In Writing And Obama Is FURIOUS!

Donald Trump has done what no other president-elect in history has done before: He has written his first executive order, dated it for the day he is inaugurated and placed it in a folder he carries with him ready to sign as soon as he’s finished taking the oath of office. The text, released just minutes ago, is said to have sent Obama into a little temper tantrum, slamming doors and knocking things off of the Resolute Desk.

After extensive research, Trump’s team figured out that the easiest way to rescind President Obama’s orders. What they’ve discovered is that Obama’s entire eight years can be erased with a single order that reads as follows:
All orders from the executive office dated from January 20th, 2009 through January 19th, 2017 are hereby null and void, regardless and in spite of the consequences or hardships inflicted on the American people.
That’s right, patriots. Whether it be protection of lands from environmental disaster, increases in benefits or salaries for executive branch workers, declarations for disasters and federal funds or amnesty for children who have lived here their whole lives because their parents broke the law and came here illegally, Obama’s entire tenure will just go buh bye.

It’s estimated that millions of people will need to scatter across the country to avoid prosecution for being brown in Trump’s America. Dozens of parks and wetlands will be handed over to ranchers, frackers and oil drillers and countless other who are affected in some way from such a sweeping and, quite frankly, moronic use of the president’s pen and power will struggle to figure out what to do next.

But true Americans, those of us who don’t need anything but our work boots and our red hats will be just fine and that’s all that really matters.

Militiamen and patriots across the country will be free from all that government regulation that doesn’t really affect them but really ticks them off as the glorious US of A becomes the great land it once was before colored folk, the gays and women went and ruined it with grandiose ideas about “equality.”

Ukraine in Full-Blown Collapse: Deep-seated Economic, Social Crisis and Environmental Crisis

Ukraine
With all the action in Syria, the Ukraine is no longer a subject for discussion in the West. In Russia, where the Ukraine is still a major problem looming on the horizon, and where some 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees are settling in, with no intentions of going back to what’s left of the Ukraine, it is still actively discussed. But for the US, and for the EU, it is now yet another major foreign policy embarrassment, and the less said about it the better.

In the meantime, the Ukraine is in full-blown collapse—all five glorious stages of it—setting the stage for a Ukrainian Nightmare Before Christmas, or shortly after.
Phase 1. Financially, the Ukrainian government is in sovereign default as of a couple of days ago. The IMF was forced to break its own rules in order to keep it on life support even though it is clearly a deadbeat. In the process, the IMF stiffed Russia, which happens to be one of its major shareholders; what gives?

Phase 2. Industry and commerce are approaching a standstill and the country is rapidly deindustrializing. Formerly, most of the trade was with Russia; this is now over. The Ukraine does not make anything that the EU might want, except maybe prostitutes. Recently, the Ukraine has been selling off its dirt. This is illegal, but, given what’s been happening there, the term “illegal” has become the stuff of comedy.

Phase 3. Politically, the Ukrainian government is a total farce. Much of it has been turned over to fly-by-night foreigners, such as the former Georgian president Saakashvili, who is a wanted criminal in his own country, which has recently stripped him of his citizenship. The parliament is stocked with criminals who bought their seat to gain immunity from prosecution, and who spend their time brawling with each other. Prime Minister Yatsenyuk was recently hauled off the podium by his crotch; how dignified is that? He seemed unfazed. Where are his testicles? Perhaps Victoria Nuland over at the US State Dept. is keeping them in a jar. This sort of action may be fun to watch on Youtube, but the reality is quite sad: those who “run” the Ukraine (if the term still applies) are only interested in one thing: stealing whatever is left.

Phase 4. Ukrainian society (if the term still applies) has been split into a number of warring factions. This was, to some extent, inevitable. What happens if you take bits of Poland, Hungary, Romania and Russia, and stick them together willy-nilly? Well, results may vary; but if you also spend $5 billion US (as the Americans did) turning the Ukrainians against Russia (and, since they are mostly Russian, against themselves), then you get a complete disaster.

Phase 5. Cultural collapse is quite advanced. The Ukraine once had the same world-class educational system as Russia, but since independence they switched to teaching in Ukrainian (a made-up language) using nonexistent textbooks. The kids have been taught a bogus history hallucinated by rabid Ukrainian nationalists. They’ve been told that Russia is backward and keeping them back, and that they deserve to be happy in the EU. (Just like the Greeks? Yeah…) But now the population has been reduced to levels of poverty not commonly seen outside of Africa, and young people are fleeing, or turning to gangsterism and prostitution, to merely survive. This doesn’t make for a happy cultural narrative. What does it mean to be “a Ukrainian” now? Expletives deleted. Sorry I asked.

Now, here’s what it all really means. With so much going wrong, the Ukraine has been unable to secure enough natural gas or coal supplies to provide a supply cushion in case of a cold snap this winter. A few weeks of frosty weather will deplete the supply, and then pipes will freeze, rendering much of the urban areas unlivable from then on (because, recall, there is no longer any money, or any industry to speak of, to repair the damage). That seems bad enough, but we aren’t quite there yet.

You see, the Ukraine produces over half of its electricity using nuclear power plants. 19 nuclear reactors are in operation, with 2 more supposedly under construction. And this is in a country whose economy is in free-fall and is set to approach that of Mali or Burundi! The nuclear fuel for these reactors was being supplied by Russia. An effort to replace the Russian supplier with Westinghouse failed because of quality issues leading to an accident. What is a bankrupt Ukraine, which just stiffed Russia on billions of sovereign debt, going to do when the time comes to refuel those 19 reactors? Good question!

But an even better question is, Will they even make it that far? You see, it has become known that these nuclear installations have been skimping on preventive maintenance, due to lack of funds. Now, you are probably already aware of this, but let me spell it out just in case: a nuclear reactor is not one of those things that you run until it breaks, and then call a mechanic once it does. It’s not a “if it ain’t broke, I can’t fix it” sort of scenario. It’s more of a “you missed a tune-up so I ain’t going near it” scenario. And the way to keep it from breaking is to replace all the bits that are listed on the replacement schedule no later than the dates indicated on that schedule. It’s either that or the thing goes “Ka-boom!” and everyone’s hair falls out.

How close is Ukraine to a major nuclear accident? Well, it turns out, very close: just recently one was narrowly avoided when some Ukro-Nazis blew up electric transmission lines supplying Crimea, triggering a blackout that lasted many days. The Russians scrambled and ran a transmission line from the Russian mainland, so now Crimea is lit up again. But while that was happening, the Southern Ukrainian, with its 4 energy blocks, lost its connection to the grid, and it was only the very swift, expert actions taken by the staff there that averted a nuclear accident.

I hope that you know this already, but, just in case, let me spell it out again. One of the worst things that can happen to a nuclear reactor is loss of electricity supply. Yes, nuclear power stations make electricity—some of the time—but they must be supplied with electricity all the time to avoid a meltdown. This is what happened at Fukushima Daiichi, which dusted the ground with radionuclides as far as Tokyo and is still leaking radioactive juice into the Pacific.

And so the nightmare scenario for the Ukraine is a simple one. Temperature drops below freezing and stays there for a couple of weeks. Coal and natural gas supplies run down; thermal power plants shut down; the electric grid fails; circulator pumps at the 19 nuclear reactors (which, by the way, probably haven’t been overhauled as recently as they should have been) stop pumping; meltdown!

If this winter stays very, very warm, then the “19 Fukushimas” scenario just may be averted. This is not impossible: we’ve been seeing one freakishly warm winter after another, and each passing month is setting new records. The future is looking hot—as in very warm. Let us pray that it doesn’t also turn out to be hot—as in radioactive.

Will David Cameron, Barack Obama and Angela Merkel ever face justice for their support of these "moderate atrocities"?

A mass grave, mutilated bodies, landmines and other moderate atrocities -

A mass grave has been discovered in Eastern Aleppo. Mutilated bodies and mines in children's toys are just some of the atrocities committed by the people the west calls 'moderate'

2016 saw many new words become familiar terms. The real meaning of many of these can be found in The Duran Lexicon. In addition, familiar words became totally removed from their original definition. The word moderate is the most widely abused example.

Consider a group of people who behead civilians, including a 12 year old Palestinian boy, consider people who sell their rape victims on the open market like cattle, consider people who torture civilians, and last but not least, imagine someone who after killing a soldier in a regular army, cuts out his heart and liver and eats them raw.

By no sane convulsion of the English language could such acts be consider “moderate”. Extreme, sick, disgusting, sub-human, insane, dangerous, despicable are far more accurate terms.

But for the US, UK, France, Germany and other European powers, the acts I’ve described, which have been well documented by the perpetrators themselves, are acts which have been committed by various terrorist groups who have sought to overthrow the legitimate government of Syria.

Today, Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov confirmed a mass grave has been discovered in formerly terrorist occupied eastern Aleppo. Many of the bodies have been grotesquely mutilated.

In addition to the mass grave, the men who David Cameron, Barack Obama and Angela Merkel have for years called ‘moderate rebels’ had hoarded dangerous weapons including barrel bombs and illegal land-mines. Speaking of the latter, Konashenkov said:
“Literally everything, for which there was enough time and ammunition, was mined: the streets, entrances to premises, vehicles, motorcycles lying on roads, and even children’s toys”.
These are the people that the Russian military and Syrian Arab Army jointly destroyed in Aleppo. Yet US Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power screams about how Russia ought to be ashamed for eliminating this threat and freeing the people of Aleppo. Her hysterical lack of diplomacy and insane lies are beyond any form of redemption.

Meanwhile, far from putting these savages into their own mass grave, President Assad has offered amnesty to those who forsake violence in a move which can only be described as overly humane at best. ‘Naïve’ is the word I prefer.

I wonder if the western mainstream media and politicians will continue to call the body mutilators, the mass killers and cannibals, ‘moderate rebels’ after this latest revelation?

I wonder too how long members of a public who know they were lied to about Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya will continue to post idiotic memes on Facebook pretending that the liberation of Aleppo is a disaster, whilst ignoring the fact that its occupation by terrorists of the most extreme order was the real disaster they remain unaware of?

For those who still don’t understand it, let me put it this way: evidence of Assad’s ‘crimes against his people’ can be found next to Saddam Hussein’s stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. They are both works of fiction, largely from the same authors.

Angela Merkel prepares law that will fine social media sites $522,000 a day for leaving “fake news” stories online

Germany is considering imposing a legal regime that would allow fining social networks such as Facebook up to 500,000 euros ($522,000).
Germany is coming completely undone.

In a move that will most certainly lead the way to other EU vassal states adopting similar measures, Angela Merkel is considering imposing a 500,000 euros ($522,000) fine on Facebook, and other social media platforms, for each day they leave a “fake news” story up without deleting it.

The German government will consider the bill in the new year. The initiative has bipartisan support, allowing both official and private complainants to flag content that is considered “fake news”.

The law forces social networks to create in-country offices focused on responding to takedown demands, and makes social networks legally responsible for compensation, if a post by individual users were found to slander someone…and we are confident that no private individuals will abuse such laws for financial gain.

With George Soros financing the “third-party fact checking” organization retained to flag, and censor “fake news” on Facebook, we are positive that any publication not of the neo-liberal, globalist kind, will be properly removed from social media platforms, so as to avoid Merkel’s book burning fine.
Germany’s parliamentary chief of the Social Democrat party, Thomas Oppermann in an interview with Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine said…
“If after the relevant checks Facebook does not immediately, within 24 hours, delete the offending post then [it] must reckon with severe penalties of up to 500,000 euros.”
After such laws are passed in Germany, if Facebook were truly an open communication platform, they should pull out of Germany and see how the populace reacts to Merkel’s brutal attack on free speech.
Do not be fooled, this is a move that clamps down on free speech, and is something a dictator in a banana republic would do.

Merkel, for her part will brush such claims aside, and resort to the standard EU/US excuse of blaming Russia for their home grown sinister agenda to rule their nations with an iron fist.

Heat Street reports that the legislation is being push to combat Russian election hacking in Germany, before such elections take place, and with no evidence of such hacking having been proven by German of US officials.
German lawmakers believe this bill will help tackle the possibility of Russia meddling in Parliamentary elections scheduled for next year. This follows the allegations that the Kremlin was behind the hacking of the Democratic National Committee that led to the leak of thousands of emails by key aides to Hillary Clinton.
The German intelligence agency has warned that Russia could try to undermine the elections next year by employing automated bots on social media to spread fake news articles.
Some members of the government have advocated criminalizing the spread of so-called “fake news”. Patrick Sensburg, a senior MP in Merkel’s party said recently: “Targeting disinformation to destabilize a state should be a criminal offence.”
Hans-Georg Maassen, the head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, told Bild am Sonntag: “Facebook is earning an awful lot of money with fake news.” He added: “A company that earns billions from the internet also has a social responsibility.”

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. UN’s outgoing Secretary General Ban Ki-moon had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, in the course of which he praised Moscow’s role in ensuring global peace and security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Lavrov said he was satisfied on the whole with the level of collaboration with Secretary Ban, who quits on January 1, 2017 in spite of all the complications and controversies of the period of world politics that his term of office fell on and the pressures he had he was subjected to," it said.

"Ban Ki-moon thanked Russia for its support to the UN and praised Moscow’s role in the matters of ensuring global peace and security," the ministry said.

Lavrov also thanked Secretary Ban for the messages expressing gratitude for cooperation, which the latter man sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Lavrov and Ban Ki-moon had a telephone conversation on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Syria and peace settlement of the civil armed conflict in Ukraine.

"In the course of the conversation, they took up some pressing issues of the international agenda, including the situation in Syria and other countries of the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the peace settlement in Ukraine on the basis of the Minsk accords and the UN Security Council Resolution 2202, which endorsed them," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

Putin: The ‘New World Order’ Is Normalizing Pedophilia In The West

putin erzr
Vladimir Putin has used his annual Christmas press conference to accuse Western liberal elites of abandoning the traditional values that made their countries great. Instead of building a future based on solid Christian values, Western elites have created a culture of “excessive, exaggerated political correctness” that is so destructive it will lead to the downfall of Western civilization if it is not arrested.

In a nearly four-hour question and answer session, the Russian president held forth on the state of his country and the world, saying that there is an international push for a New World Order that will “remove national sovereignty” and “destroy identity and of God-created diversity.”

To reach this goal, Putin states that Western elites have begun rejecting the roots that their society was built on.

Many Western states have taken the way where they deny or reject their own roots, including their Christian roots which form the basis of Western civilization. In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being denied – national, religious, cultural and even gender identities are being denied or relativized.”

In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being denied – national, religious, cultural and even gender identities are being denied or relativized. There, politics treats a family with many children as equal to a homosexual partnership (juridically).

The excesses and exaggerations of political correctness in these countries indeed leads to serious consideration for the legitimization of parties that promote the propaganda of pedophilia.

“The people in many European states are actually ashamed of their religious affiliations and are indeed frightened to speak about them.”

Putin says that the situation has become so extreme in Western culture, that people are now taught that “Faith in God is equal to faith in Satan”. To say otherwise would be to risk being politically incorrect — the great crime of our age.

Christian holidays and celebrations are abolished or ‘neutrally’ renamed, as if one were ashamed of those Christian holidays. With this method one hides away the deeper moral values of these celebrations.

“And these countries try to force this model onto other countries, globally. I am deeply convnced that this is a direct way to the degradation and primitivization of culture. This leads to deeper demographic and moral crisis in the West. What can be a better evidence for the moral crisis of a human society (in the West) than the loss of its reproductive function?

Western countries cannot survive reproductively

Today nearly all ‘developed’ Western countries cannot survive reproductively, not even with the help of migrants.

Without the moral values that are rooted in Christianity and other world religions, without rules and moral values which have formed and been developed over millennia, people will inevitably lose their human dignity.”

Putin was unapologetic about Russia’s determination to defend Western values.
And we think it is right and natural to defend and preserve these moral (Christian) values.”

The attempt to create a one world government

Putin also warned that there is an attempt to create a one world government that would do away with sovereign states — an outcome that would lead to the “surrender of one’s own identity” and the loss of “God-created diversity”.

At the same time as this process at a national level in the West, we observe on an international level the attempts to create a unipolar, unified model of the world, to relativize and remove institutions of international right and national sovereignty.

“In such a unified, unipolar world there is no place for sovereign states. Such a world needs merely vassals.

“From a historical perspective, such a unipolar world would mean the surrender of one’s own identity and of God-created diversity.”
